This is a beautiful, mature,mound-forming Japanese maple that is deciduous and slow growing. Inaba-Shidare have fine delicate leaves on arching branches and are known for their autumn colour as they turn from deep purple to a dazzling display of bright crimson.
Acers grow best in partial shade sheltered from strong winds and should be kept moist but well drained. They are also suitable for gardens with clay soil and can be grown in pots or in the ground. This tree has been grafted onto a clear stem of 100cm meaning the stem won't get any bigger but the canopy above the graft will continue to grow.
